Help finding the right care facility for a family member

Placing a loved one into an ARF or RCFE is a big decision. This service is free to families. We'll help you understand your loved one's needs, shortlist the right facilities, and navigate financial assistance.

How placement works

1. Needs assessment

We start by understanding your loved one's care needs, age, and preferences — this determines whether an ARF (adults 18–59) or an RCFE (60+) is the right fit.

2. Facility shortlist

We put together a short list of facilities that fit those needs and help you tour them, so you're comparing real options, not starting from scratch.

3. Application support

We help with the paperwork and answer questions throughout, so you're not navigating placement alone.

Financial assistance you may qualify for

Several programs can help cover the cost of care. We'll help you figure out what your family may qualify for.

Medi-Cal Assisted Living Waiver

Medi-Cal's Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) helps cover the cost of care in participating RCFEs for eligible seniors.

SSI/SSP

Supplemental Security Income and California's State Supplementary Payment can help cover care costs for eligible individuals.

VA Aid & Attendance

Veterans and their spouses may qualify for VA Aid & Attendance benefits that help cover the cost of assisted living care.
